Washington Interns Gone Bad Episode 5

The fifth installment of Washington Interns Gone Bad finds Becky and Scottie out on a date. This was all very fun stuff to shoot. The main part of the date was shot in Malcolm X Park. The montage features lots of locations around the National Mall including the Washington Monument, the sculpture garden, the Smithsonian carousel and of course some cherry trees, plus inside and outside of the Staccato Lounge. The shots on the Mall were on our first day of shooting. Since we had no permits, we just pretended to be a bunch of dorky tourists and nobody hassled us. It was freezing that day, and poor Marisa was wearing a little sun dress and flip flops. We bundled her well between shots and other than one really windy shot at the monument, you can barely tell how cold it was.

Washington Interns Gone Bad Episode 4

Here's the latest installment of Washington Interns Gone Bad. The film now has its own MySpace page, so if you're on there and you enjoy this silly movie, please add it as a friend and spread the word. So far, I've been getting a pretty positive response and a slow but steady amount of views. This episode finds Becky coming in to her second day on the job. She's in way over head and doesn't quite know it yet. We also learn a little bit more of Elizabeth's working relationship with the congressman, and we meet Scottie for the first time.

Washington Interns Gone Bad Episode 3

Here's part 3 of Washington Interns Gone Bad. This is the part where all of our CGI shots wound up. John Griffiths who also served as director of photography did an amazing job with special effects. This was also one of my favorite sequences in the whole movie.

Washington Interns Gone Bad - Episode 2

In part two of the serialized version of Washington Interns Gone Bad, we find Becky and Elizabeth at a party on capitol hill. All is well until a gang of staffers from the wrong side of the political aisle are spotted. I've decided that in order to get the most views possible, I'll be posting these in as many places as I can, so they are on YouTube, MySpace, Google Video, Bolt, and more coming soon.

Crazy traffic on YouTube!

This last week I got Director status on YouTube. A lot of people on YouTube just upload other people's stuff, so they've decided to give special attention to those of us who are creating our own content. And now they're putting random links to director videos on the side of the page whenever you watch a video. My video views went from ten thousand something to one hundred thousand something just over the course of this weekend. The one clip that is getting the most play and the most vile comments I've ever seen is the rough cut of my Tookie Williams Execution short documentary. I expect a bunch of self-righteous types doing the whole "getting tough on crime" routine, but it's the hardcore racism of some people that really makes me sad about the state of American society today. I know that there are always going to be ignorant people out there who have all sorts of issues with race, but I try not to expose myself to those sort of people. So when I do see people spouting off with the "N" word and talking about how everything is the fault of the Jews who control the world, it leaves me cold. And the levels of hate that some of these people show towards people that they don't even know, just based on differences of opinion is a bit frightening.

I think the other thing that surprises me is how passionate some people are about execution. The blood lust that these people show disturbs me, as is the way they so cavalierly talk about people needing to die.

Washington Interns Gone Bad: Episode 1

Well, after a very long absence, I figured I ought to go ahead and update this vlog. What I've done is broken up my film, Washington Interns Gone Bad, into short episodes and I will post one each week. I'm hosting these vids on MySpace. Yeah, I know that it's the slimy underbelly of the internet and all, but so many people use it I figured it was a good way to try to get more viewers, even if those viewers happen to be teenagers with inappropriate pictures of themselves and the nasty old pedophiles who stalk them. So, here's the very first episode of Washington Interns Gone Bad. While this film has not been rated by the MPAA or anyone else, you should be warned that it's a tad on the vulgar side, which should be expected given that I was heavilly influenced by Kevin Smith, and I was very angry when I wrote it.

Welcome to my Video Blog. I'm Jason and I will be your host. Armed with a couple of cheap camcorders and some PC Editing gear, I try to capture a little slice of my life. Sometimes I make movies. Sometimes I shoot at events. Sometimes I shoot random stuff that looks cool. Sometimes my footage is extremely cool. Sometimes it's mindnumbingly dull. Usually it's somewhere in between. All video content on this blog is shot and edited by me unless otherwise noted. Here's a short trailer you can watch. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy.
