How-to/FAQ

Last edit: 4/18/07

OK, this post should explain everything you'll need to know to make the best use of this blog.

What is BitTorrent? BitTorrent is a Peer to Peer file sharing system that allows you to download files from multiple sources without having to use big clunky software with all the associated crapware attached. After you've installed a BitTorrent client, you can click on links to torrent files and your client will take care of downloading it for you. For a much more detailed FAQ on the subject, check this out.

What BitTorrent Client should I use? There are plenty of options. I personally like Bit Tornado on a PC and Transmission on the Mac.

What does "CF" mean? That's Commercial Free. If it's a TV or radio show, whoever put the file together was nice enough to remove the commercials.

What else might I need? Besides a media player, you might need an assortment of decompressing tools like Winzip (for files with the .zip extension on a PC), WinRar (for files with the .rar extension on a PC) or Stuffit Expander (for any kind of compressed archive file on a mac).

That's it. Have fun with this site.
