Atom Heart Mother Live 1970!

Dangerous Minds is possibly my favorite blog ever and you should read it regularly, like it on facebook and/or follow it on twitter. If you don’t, you’ll miss out on stuff like this: Pink Floyd playing Atom Heart Mother in San Tropez, 1970!

Hawkwind – Master of the Universe

I’m in a Hawkwind kind of mood today. Turn on, tune in and drop out!

Genesis – Supper’s Ready (Live 1973)

This one came courtesy of Dangerous Minds, a blog you really should be reading if you aren’t already. This is Genesis at their proggy best, doing a 26 minute epic with an insane odd-meter interlude called Apocalypse in 9/8.

Rush – Working Man (from the new DVD)

Here’s a sneak peak at the new live Rush DVD. I couldn’t find a way to directly embed the video on here, so here’s a link to where you can go watch it. I got to catch them on the Time Machine Tour and it was amazing. Even though I don’t usually watch concert DVDs, I might need to get this one to relive it.

3 – High Times

I remember hearing about the band 3 way back in the mid 90′s. They were a local band (local to upstate NY where I grew up) and they were going to be one of the opening bands at Woodstock 94. Years later after I had moved away and been out of the scene, my brother in law mentioned to me that they had gone prog, were signed to Metal Blade, and he gave me a copy of their album Wake Pig which blew my mind. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them twice. They don’t come to California nearly often enough. Here’s the 4th track from their new album, The Ghost You Gave to Me, which was released yesterday. Pick it up, see them live and buy their merchandise.
