Republican Implosion in 3... 2...
There are few things in the political world I like to see more than republicans fighting amongst themselves. When democrats fight amongst themselves, it's usually either over minor annoyances or petty power grabs within the party. When republicans fight, it's over the issues and it lets Americans see just what a vile bunch many of them really are. Take the upcoming shitstorm over the convention platform for instance...Conservative activists are preparing to do battle with allies of Sen. John McCain in advance of September's Republican National Convention, hoping to prevent his views on global warming, immigration, stem cell research and campaign finance from becoming enshrined in the party's official declaration of principles...I LOVE this! The people who still support the failed policies of a failed president are desperately clinging to those failed policies at the risk of making their convention an ugly fiasco (that is to say an uglier fiasco than just your run of the mill gathering of a mob of angry old white men) and further sinking the candidacy of their already all but doomed nominee! And all for policies that are bad for America no less. They have a candidate who is still incredibly conservative only not in the usual fucktarded dogmatic way, and the dogmatic fucktards are ready to lose an election (which they're going to lose anyway) over issues of ignorance, racism, anti-science and pro-corruption. Please bring this fight all the way to the convention. The majority of Americans who are not blog reading politics junkies need to see the republicans that those of us who pay attention already know all too well. Labels: election 2008 |

post a commentHi Jason!
I flew in on a rented magic carpet with a Battle of the Blogs vote for you and to share the Magic Lamp of Luck from the Genies!
Roxy
Roxy, your blog wasn't loading during your last battle, but I voted for you anyway. Now as for this lamp, I'm a little slow this morning as I've only had one tiny little espresso shot so far (we're out of coffee at home this morning so I haven't had my usual two humongous mugs), so I'm going to need to figure it all out and get to it a little later on. But yes, I could definitely use a little luck, so thanks
Start popping the popcorn! The best show of the year is about to start!
Cyrus, I think it'll be a good show for politics junkies, but I doubt any platform issues will wind up on prime time. If the media were as liberal as the republicans always whine about, they'd put together a prime time special showing all the ugly moments from the convention with heavy editorializing. But of course, the liberal media conspiracy that so victimizes these poor innocent right wingnuts wouldn't want to turn away any eyeballs from their advertising.
By the way, did you get to check out either of those Joy Division movies yet?
I read that too! I can't wait for that convention! Let's see just how many states actually do give over their delegates to McCain!
Bobo, are you going? When I was a democrat I went to the 2000 convention. I went to both conventions in 2000 and the best thing I saw there was Rage Against the Machine playing the protest outside the dem convention.
Yeah...I don't see that prime time special in the future either. But, a little RNC implosion will certainly be entertaining for me.
And...yes...I actually did see "Joy Division" a few nights ago. It had a lot of great footage that I hadn't seen yet, and thanks again for the heads up on that. I'm still looking forward to seeing "Control."
